Johnnie Athletes announces it has signed its first deals with football student athletes. Johnnie Athletes President Dan Smith said, "We are really excited to announce our first student athlete relationships, especially considering the unique situation for each of these football players. All have returned to Saint John's University to join the football team for a 5th year. This is extraordinary considering that each of these students has completed their course work to graduate, and are returning for this extra season, at a private college, without athletic scholarships. We are delighted to financially help these athletes return for this 5th year and play another football season for SJU." This is a unique opportunity for these student athletes to compete for an additional year, resulting from Covid's impact on the 2021 football season.
